Jockey Jose Flores in Critical Condition

Veteran jockey Jose Luis Flores  was critically injured in a ninth race spill at the Bensalem, Pa., racetrack Monday and is on life support, according to Parx director of racing Sam Elliott.

Jose has ridden 4,650 winners from 28,684 mounts and is respected in the racing community as a dedicated rider, as well as a gentleman on and off the course. Race fans, please keep Jose and his family in your thoughts and, if so inclined, in your prayers.

UPDATE: Jose Luis Flores passed away March 22nd as a result of severe cranial and spinal injuries at Parx Racing and Casino in Pennsylvania. The 57-year-old father of three was a native of Peru and will continue to bless others as an organ donor.
